Old Friends - New Conversation ...

Michele Bogan and I have been friends since the late '70's. Oh my gosh that is weird.

Recently, Michele and I have been texting, IMing and are planning to walk the '09 Epilepsy Walk.

I love that it feels like time has not passed and we have picked up from the last time we talked.

At times, I feel like we still live on Camino Del Rey (two houses away)(in country talk ... that is still a long way).
This is an example of a beautiful friendship that will last a lifetime.

Just old friends with new conversation!!!

Camping Trip Planned ...

We are so excited, we have planned a camping trip with our dear friends, The Rasmussens.
They were our very first neighbors when we bought our home in Corona.
We shared dinners together, laughs, kids births and so many memories.
We have kept in contact since we have moved and are soooooo excited to be meeting up with them to go camping Valentines weekend.
Watch for pictures in the upcoming week of our big trip!

Reuniting with Old Friends ...

As I have gotten older I have really had time to think of the people who mean the most to me.

Reuniting with old friends ... the memories.

Making new friends ... the memories to come.

Holding strong to the love of my family.

Teaching my children true love and great friendship.

Times are a Changing ...

Okay ... so this is my blog where I can vent, share or just type whatever is on my mind.
With that said ...
I have such mixed feelings on where our new President will take us. Our economy is so squeezed right now that it is scarey. Rich has a very stable job and I work in an industry that will always have need. But there are so many people right now that in a blink of an eye could lose everything. All of those currently retired who invested their retirement in stock and have lost it all. Will the President be able to help them?
What about our current War status? Will he just pull everyone back home? And then what? One person can not make these changes by themselves ... we can't assume that he will step into office and make changes with the signing of papers and delegations of duties. It takes a government as a whole and the people have to stand behind it. I am not political .. I am sure you can tell from this but ... please let there be changes.

Glamour Girl ...

Yesterday, Hannah was invited to celebrate her friend Ashley's seventh birthday. She had a glamour girl theme. All the little girls put on lip gloss, blush and a little mascara. Ashley mom, Lisa, is a photographer and she took glamour shots of each girl. I had to share Hannah's ... I think she looks adorable.

Look at my Shadow ...

We were just having fun today and took the dogs to run in a nearby dirt field. I think these are just a blast. They capture each of us in such a fun way.

Day at the Museum ...

Rich and I tried to do a surprise outing for the kids.
We headed to the Fresno Zoo ... but upon arriving, we saw that everyone had the same idea and the line was outrageous to get in.
So ... what to do now ... we headed downtown to the Fresno Metropolitan Museum. Just so happens they had a dinosaur exhibit!
We got to make cool feathered masks. After our outing we headed to Foster Freeze for an ice cream.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker ...

To all the single ladies ... I have a man for you.

Alex Rivera, 21 years old and single. Alex is a neighbor friend. He likes to come over and hang with our family and play Xbox. He just started the police academy this last week. He is a great catch. He even washed my car for me today.

A Week at a Glance ...

Well, we have made it through our back to school week after Christmas break. Back to cheer practice and homework.
Jeremy is working on reading a Harry Potter book for AR points at school. He got his progress report and did great. He is definately showing us he is making improvements. Math seems to be the subject that gives him the most trouble. Rich has been trying to "tutor" him and it seems to be paying off.
Ms. Hannah has dried up all the crying at school (finally) and is loving it. She definately has so much of my personality. I cried for probably my whole kindergarten year.
Also this week .. we wished Gramps "Happy Birthday". For some unknown reason, he insists that we don't acknowledge his birthday (yeah right) ... we always do!!! So ... Happy Birthday again Gramps. We love ya.
Well, that pretty much recaps our week.

To Be or Not to Be ...

I am a bit late with my New Year's resolution this year. I guess I needed a few days to contemplate.

1. Be more wise with my finances
2. Get to know someone before judging them
3. Patience is a virtue
4. Watch thy mouth (oooowww ... I have a potty mouth a lot)
5. Healthy living

I think those are a great start to being a better person for 2009. I am going to vow to do my best to follow these.

Goodbye 2008 ...

Goodbye 2008 ... Hello 2009!!! We spent New Year's Eve Day at the snow. We drove up to Shaver Lake for a couple of hours. It was so beautiful. The snow was powdery like sugar. Hannah took all the goodies to make a snowman. She formed "Frostina's" head on her own and Rich formed the body. Jeremy and I made a throne to sit on.

After our careful snow architecture was complete, we headed to the sled slope.

Hannah is our daredevil and is up for anything. She headed up as far as she could and slid down. Jeremy had to watch a couple of times and then gave it a try. He wasn't too into the sledding and decided to bomb everyone with snow balls instead! Rich could play all day. Myself ... my toes were frozen and I was the photographer.

We had lots of fun.

Thank you Uncle John, Aunt Sharon and Jennifer for our new sleds ... they are awesome.
